Thrive Green Academy YAM Sierra Club mural unveiling

YAM’s newest mural located at the Thrive Green Academy focuses on environmental sustainability, clean energy, and green infrastructure.
The Sierra Club commissioned the mural to inspire our collective imagination about what a clean energy future looks like for the Gulf South – and to bring awareness to their efforts to combat against the expansion of oil and gas export facilities. During the 10-week mural project, 16 youth artists collaborated with Lead Artist Kentrice Schexnayder and YAM Lead Arts Educator Journey Allen to learn about topics related to environmental injustices. Their vibrant and hopeful mural reflects their vision of a Gulf South that evolves into an environmental oasis.
Join us to celebrate our youth artists and learn how to get involved with the Sierra Club and Thrive Green Academy! Event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
