Arts New Orleans, Ashé Cultural Arts Center, and Civic Studio in collaboration with an Events Committee made up of Central City stakeholders and residents are excited to present Central City Saturday!
Please join us in celebrating the music, culture, food, and history of Central City! The inaugural Central City Saturday will be on Saturday March 9th from 11:30 am to 5 pm. We’ll kick off the day at Ashé with a second line down Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard and move into family friendly programming that supports local business, connects neighbors to community resource partners and local vendors, and gives attendees a chance to experience arts and culture through the perspective of Central City community members.
Enjoy music from the Pinettes Brass Band, Los Tremelo Kings, DJ Bigg Cheeez, Baba Luther and more! Get a first look at an upcoming documentary, attend a panel discussion, visit temporary art and history exhibits and learn about the upcoming public art RFQ call for art along the Boulevard.
The event committee came together after more than a year of convenings under the Our Town creative placemaking program to gather community input for programming and public art along the boulevard.
