Artist’s Statement:
“Site specific response is very important to my work. Popp’s fountain, a 1934 Work’s Progress Administration Structure was built during the great depression and has survived disasters both man-made and natural. In this respect it echoes themes of my work; the dance of fragility, decay, dignity and resiliency” said Michel Varisco, a native New Orleans photographer and sculptor.
