Anais St. John
Anais St. John is a native New Orleanian who has worked in the music, theater and the modeling industry for the past ten years. After she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Xavier University, she received her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of New Orleans. Anais has appeared on stages with Tulane Summer Lyric Theater, the New Orleans Opera Association, Le Petit Theater, Jefferson Performing Arts Society, and the Living History Project.
Following in the footsteps of her father, jazz alto saxophonist Marion Brown, Anais has quickly established herself as one of the premier singer/entertainers in New Orleans, with a regular show Lady Sings the Blues at the Mystic Den on Bourbon Street or working the club scene around town in the cities top venues such as The House Of Blues, Tipitinas French Quarter, Harrah’s Casino Club 528, The Bombay Club, Snug Harbor, Windsor Court Polo Club, The Mystic Den at the Royal Sonesta, Dos Jeffes, D.B.A., King Bolden’s, and many more. Anais also has made herself quite comfortable performing on the large stages of music festivals like the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and French Quarter Fest.
Mrs. St. John has also found a home on the stage of the Cabaret theater, Le Chat Noir where she has performed in several of her own shows including Presenting Anais St. John and Duets in which she works with some of the top male vocalists in the area. Anais was awarded a spot at the prestigious Cabaret Conference at Yale University. Anais has also starred as one of the lead dancers and vocalists in a revival of classic burlesque in Bust out Burlesque at One Eyed Jacks and Tipitinas.
In addition to being named one of New Orleans Magazine’s “People To Watch,” and most recently featured as one of their “Personas, Mrs. St. John has also been given a “L’Image” Award from Gambit Weekly.
Most recently, Anais has been named one of Gambit Weekly’s “Forty People Under Forty” a distinguished award given to individuals in the community who have made outstanding achievements in their career before they reached the age of forty.
