What is the Arts Market of New Orleans?
Presented by the Arts Council of New Orleans, the Arts Market is a monthly arts market held the LAST Saturday of every month. Located at Palmer Park in the lovely Carrollton Section of Uptown New Orleans (At the corner of two well trafficked streets, S. Claiborne Ave and S. Carrollton Ave,) the Arts Market is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and has no admission charge.
What kind of art is featured at the Arts Market?
The Arts Market features handmade, affordable art from local and regional artists and artisans. Styles of art include Painting, Photography, Ceramics, Glass, Jewelry, Wood, and Printmaking, plus handmade clothing, soap, candles, and other delights. Between 50 and 100 artists display and sell their wares each month.
What else happens at the Arts Market?
The Arts Market also features live entertainment, food and beverage booths, and a children’s activities area.
How are artists accepted to exhibit at the Market?
The Market is always looking for new artists from LA and MS who are interested in exhibiting their handmade, original work.
Interested artists who have never exhibited at the Arts Market should download and complete the application from the Arts Council website and mail it in with their fee and work samples to:

New artist applications must be received by the Arts Council at least two weeks prior to that month’s market to be eligible for consideration.
How much is an artist booth fee?
10’x10’ booths are rented to individual artists for $75 a month, $70 for Arts Council members. The Arts Market does not provide tents, tables, or set-up assistance. Shared booths are available for $45 per person, or $40 for Arts Council members, though both artists must submit an application and be accepted by the Arts Market.
•First time exhibitors can send payment with their application.
•Returning artists can renew their application and pay online.

It is the mission of the Arts Council to support and to expand the opportunities for diverse artistic expression and to bring the community together in celebration of our rich multi-cultural heritage. This centrally located, accessible Arts Market featuring visual and performing arts will not only enhance the community, but also provide needed economic development to the artists of New Orleans.
